Dr Walid Ouanes

Dr. Walid Ouanes is an accomplished Specialist in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation with extensive academic and clinical experience spanning over two decades. He earned his MD from the Faculty of Medicine in Monastir, Tunisia, in 2002, followed by a specialisation in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation from the Ministry of Higher Education and Health in 2007. Further enhancing his expertise, Dr. Ouanes completed a Master's degree in Sports Medicine at the Faculty of Medicine in Sousse, Tunisia, an Inter-University Diploma in Podiatry from Pierre & Marie Curie University in France, and a French Board Fellowship in Physical and Rehabilitation Medicine in 2008. He also pursued training in Manual Medicine and Osteopathy at René Descartes University in France and Musculoskeletal Echography at Sfax University in 2022.

Dr. Ouanes has held prestigious roles, including serving as Head of the Medical Department for professional football teams and elite athletes. He was the medical director for the Etoile Sportive du Sahel football team, which won the Tunisian professional football league in 2022-2023, and the African Elite Regional Tennis Center from 2022-2024. Previously, he led the medical department at AL AHLY Sport Club in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, contributing to their victories in the national league, King Cup, Crown Prince Cup, and Super Cup.

In academia, Dr. Ouanes has served as an Assistant Professor (2009-2017) and currently as an Associate Professor (2018-present) in the Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Department at Sousse University, Tunisia. He is also the founder and director of the Football Medicine Diploma at Sousse University and actively contributes to research, particularly in spinal diseases.

Dr. Ouanes is a recognised leader in his field, holding roles such as Secretary General of the Tunisian Society of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation since 2021 and active board member of the Tunisian Society of Sport Medicine.
