Dr. Thamir Alkasab

Dr Thamir Alkasab is a Consultant Urological Surgeon with subspecialist expertise in uro-oncology, robotic surgery and minimally invasive urological procedures. He completed his urology residency and specialty training at Alexandria University, Egypt, before undertaking further subspecialty training in endo-urology and laparoscopy.

He subsequently moved to Canada, where he trained as a uro-oncologist at Princess Margaret Cancer Centre, University Health Network, University of Toronto. There he completed two fellowships in uro-oncology, encompassing both clinical and research components, and received advanced training in robotic-assisted surgery, particularly robotic prostatectomy and pelvic lymph node dissection (PLND).

Dr Alkasab has published extensively in the field of urological cancers, with a particular focus on the early diagnosis and treatment of prostate cancer. His research has been presented at leading American and Canadian urological meetings.

He is an active member of several national and international professional associations, including the Canadian Urological Association (CUA), American Urological Association (AUA), Société Internationale d’Urologie (SIU), Egyptian Urology Association (EUA), Canadian Iraqi Medical Society (CIMS) and the Iraqi Medical Association.
