Dr. Tamer Salem

Dr Tamer Salem is a specialist in ophthalmology based in Dubai, UAE.

He received his medical degree on 1991 from Cairo University, Egypt. He then became the first doctor in Europe to receive a PhD in LASIK from Miguel Hernandez University, Spain, in 2002. Her later completed two clinical fellowships, one at Regensburg University in Germany and the other at the Institute of Ophthalmology Alicante in Spain.

Dr Salem currently practices as a Specialist in Ophthalmology at Spanish Center LASIK and Eyes and Cosmetic Dubai, UAE and Belhoul European Hospital, Dubai, UAE.

He typically carries out the following ophthalmologic procedures:

• Laser refractive surgery using: LASIK, PRK, Intralasik HD and Relex-SMILE
• Laser therapeutic surgery
• Keratoconus surgery
• Implantable contact lens implantation
• Strambismus surgery
• Keratoplasy

He has an impressive amount of experience in LASIK, having performed around 14,000 LASIK procedures since 1990.

Prior to his current positions, he practiced as a Consultant Ophthalmologist at San Juan University Hospital Alicante, Spain. He is also an Assistant Ophthalmology Professor at Miguel Hernandez University, Spain.

Dr Salem aims to raise awareness of ophthalmologic conditions and as such, offers free LASIK consultations and aids his patients with any concerns and questions they have.
