Dr Smitha Raghavan

Dr. Smitha Raghavan is a UK-trained Consultant in Obstetrics and Gynaecology with over 15 years of experience in the National Health Service (NHS). She earned her MBBS degree from Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences in Bengaluru in 2002 before relocating to the United Kingdom, where she undertook extensive specialist training regulated by the General Medical Council. She achieved Membership of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (MRCOG) in 2009 and was awarded a Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) in 2013. In 2021, she received Fellowship of the Royal College in recognition of her contributions to the specialty.

Dr. Raghavan's clinical competencies cover a broad range of obstetric and gynaecological care. She manages both low- and high-risk pregnancies, including cases involving diabetes, hypertension, previous pregnancy loss, and preterm birth. Her expertise includes normal and assisted vaginal deliveries, caesarean sections, and early and late pregnancy complications.

She is also trained in minimally invasive procedures such as laparoscopic and hysteroscopic surgeries for conditions including ectopic pregnancy, fibroids, ovarian cysts, and menstrual disorders. Additional areas of practice include cervical screening and colposcopy, pelvic floor disorders, breast screening, and ultrasound for obstetric and gynaecological evaluation.
