Dr. Sandeep Sharma

Dr. Sandeep Ramesh Sharma is a Specialist Gastroenterologist with 10 years of experience encompassing diverse medical and interventional practices. Currently practicing at Medcare Hospital Sharjah - Sheikh Saqr Al Qasimi. He completed his MBBS at Vydehi Institute of Medical Sciences in 2008, followed by an MD in Internal Medicine from Mysore Medical College and Research Centre in 2012, and a DNB in Gastroenterology from Kasturba Medical College Hospital in 2016. He holds Lifetime Memberships with both the Indian Society of Gastroenterology (ISG) and the Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy of India (SGEI).

Throughout his career across medical institutions in India and Dubai, Dr. Sharma has cultivated a diverse skill set in managing intricate gastrointestinal, hepatic, and pancreatic conditions. His clinical scope covers both routine and emergency care, utilising sophisticated diagnostic methodologies like manometry and esophageal pH metry to formulate precise treatment strategies. His proficiency in advanced diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy includes ERCP with Spyglass cholangioscopy, bariatric gastric balloon placements, and the management of complex GI bleeds. Alongside introducing advanced endoscopic procedures that have actively enhanced patient recovery times, Dr. Sharma is recognised for his collaborative approach, prioritising strong communication and multidisciplinary teamwork to deliver comprehensive, patient-centered care.

He also maintains a strong interest in cutting-edge methodologies, consistently pursuing further specialisation in Endoscopic Submucosal Dissection (ESD) and Therapeutic Endoscopic Ultrasound (EUS).

Actively engaged in clinical research, Dr. Sharma has contributed to peer-reviewed literature, notably co-authoring a 2023 publication on the emergency combined laparoscopy and push enteroscopic approach in the management of bleeding jejunal diverticula. Alongside his clinical research he is also a dedicated to medical education, having mentored Junior Doctors and Medical Students alongside guiding residents, fellows, and interns in clinical sharing to help share his experience and support their training.
