Dr Samih Tarabichi

Dr Samih Tarabichi is a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon and a globally recognised leader in knee arthroplasty and joint reconstruction, with a career spanning over 35 years. He has performed more than 25,000 joint replacement surgeries worldwide and is widely regarded as a pioneer in the field of Asian knee arthroplasty.

Dr Tarabichi completed his orthopaedic residency at McGill University, Canada (1984–1987), following earlier medical training and research roles at the University of Illinois, Mt. Carmel Medical Center in Ohio, Ohio State University, and the Medical College of Ohio. His expertise and innovation have shaped modern orthopaedic practice through groundbreaking contributions to knee implant design, revision surgery, and 3D-printed custom implants.

He holds seven international patents related to total knee replacement and revision procedures and played a pivotal role in developing the Persona Knee Implant by Zimmer—a design that revolutionised postoperative flexibility and mobility. More recently, he helped introduce the Zimmer Knee Revision System to the Middle East, marking a major advancement in complex revision surgeries.

Dr Tarabichi has published extensively in leading orthopaedic journals and is the Founder and Chairman of the International Congress for Joint Reconstruction (ICJR ME), established in 2011. His innovations continue to advance patient outcomes and surgical excellence across the UAE and beyond.
