Dr. Samar Sabir

Dr. Samar Sabir Mohammed Hassan is a highly regarded consultant paediatrician and specialist in paediatric endocrinology, with over a decade of experience in the field. She began her education by obtaining an MBBS degree from the University of Medical Science and Technology in 2003, followed by MD and MRCPCH qualifications. Dr. Samar completed a PETCA fellowship in paediatric endocrinology.

Dr. Samar's professional journey began with roles in various hospitals in Khartoum state, Sudan, where she gained valuable experience in paediatrics. Her expertise expanded as she served as a paediatric endocrinologist at Gaafar Ibn Auf Hospital in Khartoum, Sudan, from 2015 to 2023. Additionally, she made significant contributions as a paediatric diabetologist at the Sudan Childhood Diabetes Centre (SCDC) in Khartoum from 2019 to 2023.

Recognized for her dedication and expertise, Dr. Samar received the Paediatric Endocrine Society (PES) International Scholars Award in 2018. She remains actively involved in various professional organisations, including the European Society for Paediatric Endocrinology (ESPE), the International Society for Paediatric and Adolescent Diabetes (ISPAD), and several others.

Dr. Samar specialises in a wide range of paediatric endocrine disorders, including growth and puberty disorders, adrenal disorders, thyroid disorders, disorders of sexual development (DSD), obesity, diabetes and hypoglycemia, as well as calcium and bone disorders.
