Dr. Redwan Kalash

Dr Redwan Kalash is a highly experienced Specialist in Otolaryngology with professional interest in Laryngology (Voice and Swallowing disorders and surgery) at several hospital in Dubai, Alain and Damascu.

Over 28 years of postgraduate clinical experience, including more than 18 years focused specifically on Laryngology, particularly voice and swallowing disorders. He has been practicing in the UAE since 2015 and has previously worked in Syria and Kuwait in both clinical and academic roles.

He graduated in Medicine from Damascus University and later obtained a Master’s degree in Otolaryngology from the same institution. He also completed a Fellowship in Laryngology under Dr. James P. Thomas in Portland, USA, which helped shape his subspecialist focus on advanced voice and airway surgery.

His clinical expertise is centred on the diagnosis and treatment of complex laryngeal conditions, including voice disorders, swallowing dysfunction, and airway pathology. He is highly experienced in advanced phonosurgical techniques and office-based laryngeal procedures, including stroboscopy, laryngeal EMG, high-definition laryngoscopy, vocal fold augmentation, EMG-guided Botox injections, and flexible laser-assisted procedures. He also performs endoscopic cordectomy, partial laryngectomy, and other reconstructive or functional laryngeal surgeries, along with general ENT procedures.Dr. Redwan Kalash has the distinction of operating office based vocal folds injection on an SD patient, which was done for the first time in the UAE

Dr Kalash has worked across multiple healthcare institutions in the UAE, including Fakeeh University Hospital, Canadian Specialist Hospital, and True Life Hospital in Al Ain, alongside several visiting consultant roles in major hospitals such as Aster Hospital, Al Zahra Hospital, and Emirates Hospital. Prior to his UAE practice, he led voice and swallowing clinics in Kuwait and established his own dedicated larynx clinic in Damascus.

In addition to his clinical work, he has an extensive academic background, having spent over 10 years teaching at medical schools including Damascus University. He has contributed to international conferences, workshops, and surgical training programs across Europe, the Middle East, and Asia, including ME-OTO and IFOS meetings, and has served as an instructor and faculty speaker on advanced laryngology topics.

He is an active member of multiple professional organisations, including the European Laryngological Society and other international voice and ENT societies, and is licensed across multiple regulatory authorities in the UAE, Kuwait, and Syria.
