Dr. Nigel Beejay

Dr Nigel Umar Beejay is a Consultant Gastroenterologist and Hepatologist with over 25 years of international experience in the diagnosis and management of gastrointestinal and liver diseases. He completed his medical degree at King’s College, Cambridge University, followed by postgraduate training in London, Boston University, and the University of Toronto. In addition, he holds a Master’s Degree in Social and Political Sciences from Cambridge, a Degree in Biomedical Informatics from Oregon Health Science University, and a qualification in Medical Hypnosis from University College London.

Dr Beejay has an extensive background in clinical gastroenterology, hepatology, and advanced endoscopy, with specialist expertise in nutritional medicine, functional bowel disorders, fatty liver disease, celiac disease, food sensitivities, and cancer screening. He performs upper and lower endoscopy, capsule endoscopy, and obesity management procedures, including intragastric balloon therapy.

He is affiliated with Emirates Hospital Day Surgery in Abu Dhabi and Harley Street, London, and has chaired several international committees on gastroenterology, health informatics, and endoscopy. Dr Beejay also lectures globally on advanced endoscopic techniques, healthcare innovation, and medical technology.

A Fellow of the American College of Physicians and member of leading organisations including the British Society of Gastroenterology, American Gastroenterological Association, and ASGE, Dr Beejay combines evidence-based medicine with holistic and complementary approaches to optimise patient outcomes.
