Dr Nermeen Amer is an experienced specialist ophthalmologist based at GMC Clinics and Al Moosa Day Surgery Center. She has 17 years of post-Masters experience and 10 years of post-Doctorate experience.

Her special interests are in medical retina, uveitis, and neuro-ophthalmology.

She has vast experience in treating a range of eye disorders and has worked in a number of prestigious hospitals in the UAE, Kuwait, and Egypt. She is also appointed as a lecturer of ophthalmology in the Faculty of Medicine.

Dr Amer gained her medical qualifications from Cairo University in 1996. She holds a Master's degree in ophthalmology from Cairo University (2001) and an MD in ophthalmology from Cairo University (2009).

She holds membership of a number of organisations including the following:

• American academy of ophthalmology
• European vitreoretinal society
• Egyptian ophthalmological society
• Egyptian vitreoretinal society

Dr Amer is from Egypt and is fluent in both English and Arabic.
