Dr. Mohammad Shaar

Dr. Mohammad Shaar is a Consultant Urologist and robotic surgeon with expertise in robotic and minimally invasive surgery. His clinical experience spans Germany, Syria and the UAE and includes robotic, laparoscopic, endoscopic and open urological procedures.

Dr. Shaar completed his MD at Damascus University in 2010. His urology training included positions at Damascus University Hospitals, Klinikum Fulda and Klinikum Straubing. He obtained his German Medical License (Approbation) from the Hessian Medical Chamber in 2018 and Specialist Certification in Urology (Facharzt) from the Bavarian Medical Chamber in 2019. He subsequently worked as a specialist and senior physician before becoming a Consultant in Urology in Germany in 2023.

His additional training includes a Fellowship in Minimal Access Surgery with WALS in Dubai in 2017 and the German Robotic Urology Curriculum at ORSI Academy in 2022. In 2025, he became a Fellow of the European Board of Urology (FEBU).

Dr. Shaar has contributed to research projects and has experience supervising residents. His selected publications include research on job satisfaction and intentions to leave among foreign-national urologists working in Germany and on the relationship between non-medical reading and burnout among migrant urologists.
