He completed his MBBS and Master's in General Surgery from Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College, AMU, Aligarh, India, and attended a training course in minimal access surgery at Sir Gangaram Hospital, New Delhi, India. He began his career as a surgical registrar at Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College & Hospital and later worked as a consultant general surgeon in various centers in India for three years before relocating to Dubai.

In Dubai, Dr. Merajuddin spent over a decade at Mediclinic Welcare Hospital before joining Prime Hospital in 2015.
