Dr Mohammad Shahid Alam

Dr Mohammed Alam is an experienced Specialist in Internal Medicine at Mediclinic Deira, Mediclinic Welcare Hospital and Mediclinic Al Qusais with over 20 years of experience in the UAE, KSA and India.

Dr Alam completed his medical degree at Dayanand Medical College and Hospital, India in 1993 followed by his MD in Medicine at the same university in 1997. He later relocated to the UK and was awarded his Memberships with the Royal College of Surgeons (UK and Ireland) in General Medicine in 2011 and 2012. In 2014, Dr Alam completed his Postgraduate Diploma in Diabetes at the University of Leicester, UK, followed by his Postgraduate Diploma in Endocrinology at the University of South Wales, UK, in 2015. He became a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians in Edinburgh (UK) in 2019.

Before joining Mediclinic, Dr Alam served as a registrar at Safdarjung Hospital, New Delhi, and held the position of Senior Registrar at Apollo Hospital, New Delhi, India. In the Gulf region, he has contributed as an internist, serving as the Head of the Department for more than two decades.

Dr Alam has specialist expertise across various areas, including: general medicine, diabetes management, endocrinology (with a focus on thyroid disorders), dyslipidaemia, metabolic disorders, obesity, hypertension, respiratory tract infections, asthma, and gastroenteritis/gastritis/GERD/diabetes. Additionally, Dr Alam specialises in the treatment of fever, anaemia, and vitamin deficiency.
