Dr Maria Thomas

Dr. Maria Thomas is a Specialist Pulmonologist at Medcare Hospital, with extensive training and experience across leading tertiary centres in India. She completed her MBBS in Ernakulam, followed by an MD in Pulmonary Medicine in Mumbai, and later earned her DNB from PGIMS Rohtak. She also holds the European Diploma in Adult Respiratory Medicine (EDARM) and is an active member of the ERS, ICS, APCCM, and MRCP SCE in Respiratory Medicine.

Dr. Thomas has worked as a Senior Resident and Consultant in major hospitals across Mumbai, Bangalore, and Kerala before relocating to the UAE. Her expertise spans the full spectrum of respiratory diagnostics and procedures, including flexible bronchoscopy (BAL, TBLB, TBNA, foreign body removal), pleural procedures (thoracoscopy, thoracocentesis, intercostal drainage), and sleep medicine (polysomnography and CPAP titration). She is also skilled in respiratory critical care, performing endotracheal intubation, mechanical ventilation, and central venous access.

She manages a wide range of conditions such as asthma, COPD, sleep apnoea, interstitial lung disease, lung cancer, pleural disorders, respiratory infections, and pulmonary vascular diseases.
