Dr. Mahmoud Abousayed

Dr Mahmoud Abousayed is a Consultant Orthopaedic and Spine Surgeon with over 14 years of experience in clinical practice, academia, and research. He is licensed to practise in both Egypt and Dubai and has extensive expertise in spine surgery, orthopaedic trauma, and joint replacement procedures.

He currently serves as a Consultant in Orthopaedic and Spine Surgery at Tadawi Healthcare in Dubai, where he performs a wide range of diagnostic and surgical interventions, including pre- and post-operative patient care.

Dr Abousayed also holds an academic post as Associate Professor at the Faculty of Medicine, Cairo University. Prior to this, he served as Lecturer and Consultant (2018–2025), Assistant Lecturer (2015–2018), and completed his orthopaedic residency (2011–2014) at the same institution. His responsibilities have included leading complex surgical cases involving the spine, trauma, and joint reconstruction, as well as supervising both undergraduate and postgraduate medical training. 

Dr Abousayed obtained his Doctorate (MD) in Orthopaedics and Spine Surgery from Cairo University in 2017, following a Master of Science (MSc) in the same field in 2014 and an M.B.B.Ch. degree in Medicine in 2009.

He completed a specialised fellowship in Spine and Spinal Cord Surgery at the Spine Unit in Udine, Italy, in 2020 under the supervision of Professor Barbara Cappellett.

Dr Abousayed has regularly participated in professional development courses and scientific conferences, including the Pan Arab Spine Society Meeting (Dubai, 2025), the Aging Spine & Injectable Therapeutics conference (Cairo, 2024), the Complex Hip Replacement and Mansoura Foot & Ankle Course (2023), the Egyptian Scoliosis Course (AO Spine, 2022), and the AO Spine Egypt Congenital Spine Seminar (2019).
