Dr Mahesh Dhanjee

Dr Mahesh Dhanjee is a highly skilled Specialist Urologist at Mediclinic CIty Hospital Dubai with a wealth of experience and expertise. He completed his medical degree at the University of the Witwatersrand in Johannesburg, South Africa, in 1992 followed by his specialist training in urology, earning top honours with a cum laude distinction and receiving the prestigious Lionel B. Goldschmidt award. He later completed his Master's degree in Urology, during which his research was awarded the Van Blerk Medal for Outstanding Research Paper. Dr Dhanjee also underwent further training in advanced laparoscopic surgery at the European Institute of Telesurgery in association with the Louis Pasteur University in Strasbourg, France and holds a Fellowship of the College of Urologists of South Africa.

With a remarkable focus on innovation and advanced techniques, Dr Dhanjee is highly proficient in prostate brachytherapy, a precise treatment for early-stage prostate cancer and has successfully performed over 400 cases. Additionally, he has conducted over 2000 surgeries for kidney stones originating from the kidney, ureter, or bladder.

Dr Dhanjee is also an accredited Da Vinci robotic surgeon with many years of experience in robotic-assisted prostatectomies. His commitment to adopting cutting-edge technology led him to become one of the first urologists in his country to utilise MIMS software. This innovative software utilises MRI-ultrasound fusion technology for the early detection of prostate cancer, allowing for precise diagnosis and personalised treatment plans.
