Dr. Kris Rai qualified as an Osteopath and Naturopath in 2007, after graduating from the prestigious British College of Osteopathic Medicine. Since the beginning of his career, Dr. Rai has combined his osteopathic & Naturopathic approach with the understanding of natural human movement and it’s anthropological roots, functional biomechanics, and functional neurology.
To further develop his understanding of movement and the science behind it, Dr. Rai studied in the US and became a fellow of Applied Functional Science at the Gray Institute. He is also qualified from the CHEK Institute, has studied with Z-Health and is currently studying Functional Medicine. The combination of these differing principles have allowed him to develop a broad spectrum of approaches to his patients and athletes, ranging from pain management, assessing movement strategies and linking it with an anthropological movement philosophy, to functional neurology and Naturopathy. His overall aim is to reduce pain, improve movement and optimize performance.
Dr. Rai has worked across a number of multi-disciplinary practices and even ran his own clinic in Central London, covering a wide variety of patients from general practice to elite athletes. In addition he has worked with Team GB track and field athletes and triathletes, world class golfers on the European Tour, Challenge Tour, MENA Tour and LPGA Tour and has also worked with professional and amateur football players. Alongside his passion for natural movement, Dr. Rai also became a barefoot runner and through this became a running analysis coach helping people transition into more efficient running style.
Dr. Rai has always been very passionate about teaching. He has taught extensively at university level and across multiple healthcare fields within therapy and elite sports performance. He has also taught several English and Scottish Premier League medical teams. Teaching at the British College of Osteopathic Medicine, he tutored osteopathic students within a clinical environment, Osteopathic Technique and also Dissection studies.
