Dr Ishrat Khan

Dr Ishrat Khan is a highly qualified Consultant Endocrinologist with extensive training and experience in her field. She has worked at numerous hospitals across the UK, including University Hospital of Wales, University Hospital Llandough, Royal Glamorgan Hospital, Prince Charles Hospital, and Ysbyty Ystrad Fawr Hospital.

She is dedicated to providing best, high quality care to all patients, ensuring they have a full understanding of their condition and what treatment (or self-management) will achieve. She believes in thoroughly informing patients about their condition, the treatment or support options available. She strives to create a treatment and management plan tailored to each individual based on a mutual understanding of this information.

Dr Khan is also passionate about teaching and training new students in the field. She is an honorary lecturer for the Diploma in Diabetes, Endocrinology and Acute Medicine at University of South Wales UK. In addition to supervising MSc candidates, she provides support to help them complete their degrees from University of South Wales. She has also been part of a specialty training programme in the UK. In addition, Dr Khan is interested in clinical research, and has published several articles about Diabetes and Endocrinology. Since 2015 she has regularly reviewed abstracts for Endocrine Society USA.

Throughout her career, Dr Khan has acquired numerous memberships with reputable organisations. She is a member of the Society of Endocrinology UK, Diabetes UK, European Society of Endocrinology, Endocrine Society USA, British Medical Association, Medical & Dental Defence Union of Scotland (UK) and the Hospital Consultants and Specialists Association.
