Dr. Hani Massoud

Dr Hani Massoud completed his specialist training in ophthalmology at the University of Liège in Belgium. He then undertook fellowship training in vitreoretinal surgery at the Zivojnovic Foundation in Antwerp, Belgium, and at the Quinze-Vingts National Ophthalmology Hospital in Paris, France.

He worked in both public and private hospitals in Damascus, Syria, for approximately 15 years, during which time he performed more than 20,000 ophthalmic surgical procedures. Alongside his clinical work, Dr Massoud was involved in medical education, training doctors on the Arab Board of Ophthalmology programme and serving on the Ministry of Health examination board in Syria for over ten years. In 2013, he contributed the section on ocular trauma to Volume 11 (Eye and Ear Pathology) of the Arab Medical Encyclopedia.

Dr Massoud moved to work in Dubai in 2014 .and thousands of operations have been successfully performed at HMS AlGahroud Hospital and Al-sharif eye center.

Dr Massoud’s clinical practice covers a broad range of ophthalmic conditions and procedures, including retinal and vitreoretinal surgery, cataract surgery using phacoemulsification, premium intraocular lenses, implantable collamer lenses (ICL), refractive surgery,PRK-Lasik -Femtolasik and Smile surgeries, diabetic retinopathy management, intravitreal injections and glaucoma treatment.

His qualifications include a Diploma of Advanced Studies (DES) in Ophthalmology from Belgium, fellowship training in vitreoretinal surgery in Belgium and France, and a diploma in cataract and refractive surgery from France.
