Ms Fariha Khan is a UK-trained, DHA-licensed counsellor based at Health Call Clinic in Dubai Healthcare City. Her work spans children, adolescents and adults, with a practical focus on helping people navigate anxiety, low mood, grief, trauma, relationship difficulties and major life changes. She is a Registered Member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and works within an evidence-based, confidential therapeutic framework.
Rather than using one fixed model for every client, Fariha takes an integrative approach, drawing mainly on Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), person-centred therapy and psychodynamic techniques. Her sessions are designed to help clients understand what is happening emotionally, identify patterns that may be keeping difficulties in place, and develop practical ways of moving forward.
Fariha supports children from age 5, adolescents aged 11–18, adults, couples and families. Her work with families includes parent consultations around behavioural difficulties, ADHD, emotional stress and the impact that mental-health concerns can have across the wider household.
Her scope also includes areas that are less commonly highlighted in general counselling profiles, such as psychological assessment and support around bariatric surgery, chronic pain, chronic illness, terminal diagnosis, obesity and weight management. She works with people living alongside conditions such as fibromyalgia, arthritis, lupus and long COVID, often in coordination with medical specialists.
Fariha has contributed to mental-health education through both writing and professional speaking. Her work includes a weekly children’s advice column for the Saudi Gazette, a peer-reviewed contribution to Therapy Today, and invited talks on subjects such as family mental health, depression in later life, COVID-related relationship stress, anxiety and stress management.
Fariha’s work is warm, structured and non-judgmental. Her aim is to create a space where clients can talk openly without feeling rushed or judged, while still keeping therapy focused on meaningful change. The emphasis is on understanding, practical coping strategies and emotional resilience, with the pace and method adapted to the individual rather than the other way around.
