Dr. Falah Alkhatib

Dr Falah Alkhatib is an oncologist based at Advanced Care Oncology Centers.

He has extensive experience in the management of all malignant diseases, both by chemotherapeutic agents and with radiation using different modalities. He has expertise in all standard radiotherapy techniques, conformal radiotherapy and rotation techniques, using 3D computer planning, IMRT and SBRT. He is also experienced in the use of HDR Brachytherapy, primarily for gynaecological malignancies. Additionally, he has has vast experience using chemotherapy as an adjuvant, neoadjuvant, or in a concurrent setting.

Dr Alkhatib graduated from Ain Shams University, Cairo, Egypt in 1969 and earned his DMRT in Radiotherapy and Oncology from London University in 1980. In 1984, he gained his FRCRI from Dublin, Ireland. From 1975 – 1986, he spent time training in radiotherapy and oncology at UK hospitals. He then worked as a consultant and head of the radiotherapy services at Tawam Hospital, United Arab Emirates, where he saw between 350 and 400 patients a year.

He has played a major role in developing radiotherapy and medical oncology in the UAE and in the region, including the development of a 50M dirham Radiotherapy Centre at Tawam Hospital and the MCCCC in Dubai.

Dr Alkhatib has chaired or been a member of many hospitals and national committees. He introduced oncology to the teaching curriculum of the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, UAE and has played a major role in public awareness through writing articles in Arabic newspapers, and participating in TV programs. He has also been involved in clinical trials, particularly those related to breast, lymphomas, brain, and GI malignancies.
