Dr. Danny Shawaf

Dr. Danny Shawaf is an accomplished Vascular Surgeon with extensive expertise in both surgical and non-surgical treatments of vascular conditions. After completing his high school studies in Canada with honors, Dr. Shawaf pursued a medical degree from the University of Damascus in Syria, graduating in 2009. He subsequently completed a rigorous surgical residency program at the academic hospitals of Muenster University in Germany, where he began honing his specialized skills in vascular surgery.

In 2013, Dr. Shawaf began his career as a Vascular Surgeon and became a certified specialist (Facharzt) in 2017. He further advanced his career by serving as a Consultant Vascular Surgeon at one of Cologne’s University Academic Hospitals in 2019. His expertise spans a wide range of vascular procedures, including advanced ultrasound imaging of vessels, treatment of venous insufficiency and varicose veins, deep vein thrombosis (DVT), and thrombophlebitis.

Dr. Shawaf is highly skilled in managing diabetic foot complications and chronic wounds, performing carotid operations under local or general anesthesia, and treating peripheral arterial disease (PAD) through conservative, interventional, and surgical approaches. He also has significant experience in creating AV fistulas for dialysis, placing dialysis catheters, and inserting chemotherapy or parenteral nutrition ports.
