Carolyn Yaffe

Carolyn Yaffe is a Clinical Social Worker and CBT therapist based at Camali Clinic. She has extensive expertise in treating adults, children, and adolescents from a variety of cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds. She sees patients with mental health disorders, substance misuse, and trauma.

Carolyn holds a master's degree in social work from Boston University. She also has a certificate in cognitive behavioural therapy and the assessment and treatment of psychological trauma.

She began her profession working at an alternative high school for teenagers requiring special education programmes. Here, she provided counselling and crisis intervention for issues such as emotional challenges, truancy, academic failures, verbal and physical abuse, socialisation issues, ADD/ADHD, and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. She has also been a part of Early Intervention programmes, providing home and centre-based services to children and their families, as well as mental health assessments and counselling.

Carolyn was previously the head clinician at the Department of Youth Services in Boston, MA, where she offered clinical evaluations and provided counselling to incarcerated youths and their families and facilitated Dialectical Behavioural Therapy and substance abuse groups. Her other past roles include behavioural consultant at Doris Duan-Young Autism Center (Dubai), psychotherapist at Arbour Counseling (MA, USA), and clinical therapist within the Department of Youth Services, Metro Assessment/Treatment (MA, USA).
