Dr Calaweez Othman

Dr Calaweez Othman is a Consultant in Family Medicine at the Medical Medical Centre Meadows. Her medical journey began with her medical degree at the University of Sulaimani, Iraq in 2008, followed by her Membership with the Royal College of General Practitioners, UK and her Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) from London (UK). Dr Othman is also registered by the UK’s General Medical Council, the Dubai Health Authority (DHA) and is a member of the British Medical Association (BMA).

Dr Othman completed her junior doctor training within the NHS in the UK followed by her specialty training and registrar training. Before joining Medcare Medical Centre in May of 2023, Dr Othman served as a General Practitioner (Family Medicine Specialist) in the East of England and gained extensive experience in hospitals across London, Watford, Northampton, Doncaster, Stevenage, South End, Debenham, and Ipswich. She later relocated to the UAE and briefly worked as a Family Medicine Consultant at the American Hospital.

Dr Othman has clinical expertise in both medical and surgical areas, including acute medicine, mental health, child health, and palliative medicine. She also has expertise in managing general illnesses, ENT diseases, skin disorders, musculoskeletal disorders, common eye conditions (e.g., conjunctivitis and blepharitis), metabolic disorders including hypertension, diabetes, and thyroid issues, as well as respiratory diseases.

With a commitment to patient-centric care, Dr Othman takes pride in her ability to establish meaningful connections with patients of all age groups and ethnicities. Her services extend to the treatment of mental illness and psychiatric problems, provision of primary health care (both elective and urgent), health checks, screening, health promotion, disease prevention, and paediatric medicine.
