Dr. Brian MacCormack

Dr. Brian MacCormack is a highly skilled consultant paediatric and neonatal surgeon based in Abu Dhabi, specialising in the surgical management of children's conditions across all age groups.

Dr. Brian completed his medical degree at the University of Glasgow, Scotland, in 2008. His dedication to surgical excellence led him to pursue further education, earning a Master of Science degree with a focus on applied surgical sciences from the University of Edinburgh in 2011.

With over 15 years of experience, Dr. Brian has undergone extensive training in some of the world's leading paediatric and neonatal surgical institutions. He completed his higher surgical training in prestigious institutions including Edinburgh, Glasgow, Belfast, and Auckland. Notably, his fellowship at Starship Hospital in Auckland, New Zealand, focused on neonatal surgery and advanced minimally invasive (keyhole) surgery for children. This comprehensive training has equipped him with advanced skills to provide precise and effective care for infants, children, and young people.

Dr. Brian's areas of expertise include 'scarless' (SILS) and keyhole surgeries such as hernia repair, cholecystectomy, appendectomy, and gastrostomy insertion. He also specialises in neonatal surgery for complex congenital anomalies including esophageal atresia, gastroschisis & omphalocele, and congenital diaphragmatic hernia. Additionally, Dr. Brian offers expert surgical care for undescended testes, endoscopy for children, removal of lumps, circumcision, and treatment of ingrown toenails.
