Dr. Arindam Ghosh

Dr Arindam Ghosh is a highly experienced Consultant in Gastrointestinal and General Surgery with more than 20 years of clinical practice across India and the UAE. He is widely recognised for his expertise in complex digestive surgery, particularly in colorectal and advanced laparoscopic procedures, and is regarded as a leading specialist in minimally invasive gastrointestinal surgery.

Over the course of his career, he has developed strong expertise in a broad range of surgical areas. His practice includes minimally invasive procedures such as colorectal surgery, bariatric surgery (including gastric bypass and sleeve gastrectomy), and hernia repair, as well as the management of reflux disease and gallbladder conditions. He is also experienced in advanced oncological procedures, including cytoreductive surgery combined with HIPEC therapy for peritoneal cancers, pseudomyxoma peritonei, and metastatic abdominal malignancies.

Dr Ghosh has significant expertise in hepatobiliary and pancreatic surgery, treating both benign and malignant conditions affecting the liver, bile ducts, and pancreas. His work in surgical oncology includes cancers of the gastrointestinal tract, such as those affecting the stomach, oesophagus, colon, rectum, and small intestine, as well as soft tissue malignancies. In addition, he manages conditions such as pancreatitis, peritonitis, rectal prolapse, and common proctological disorders including haemorrhoids, fistula, and fissures.

He is also recognised as one of the early adopters of robotic gastrointestinal surgery in the MENA region and was among the first licensed consultants in gastrointestinal surgery in the UAE. Earlier in his career, he held academic and leadership roles at Dayanand Medical College and Hospital, where he served as Consultant, Assistant Professor, and Head of Surgical Gastroenterology. He later continued as Senior Consultant and Head of GI and HPB Surgery at SPS Apollo Hospitals, where he established an advanced laparoscopic digestive surgery programme and performed the first successful living donor liver transplant in North India.
