Dr Anil Kumar is a consultant endocrinologist and diabetologist at Prime Hospital, Dubai. He treats Type 1 and Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus, Diabetic foot problems, Pituitary diseases, Adrenal disorders, Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS), Metabolic bone disorders including Hypercalcaemia & Hypocalcaemia, Vitamin D deficiency. He also carries out evaluations of morbidly obese patients for bariatric surgeries.
Dr Kumar gained his MBBS and MD (General Medicine) at the prestigious Bangalore Medical College and Research Institute. He also holds a Diplomate of National Board (DNB) in India and a UK General Medical Council-certified CCT in Endocrinology, Diabetes and General Medicine. Prior to his current position he was a Consultant Endocrinologist at University Hospital of Wales, Cardiff, and at the Princess of Wales Hospital, United Kingdom. He was also an Honorary Lecturer at Cardiff University Medical school and Aberdeen University in Scotland.
Outside of the hospital, Dr Kumar likes to keep fit and enjoys running, which he started after his 40th birthday. He believes it is never too late in life, and he encourages his patients to take up exercise regardless of age. He also enjoys playing Ludo with his Family, watching Cricket and spending time with friends.
