Dr. Amitabha Das

Dr Amitabha Das is a Consultant Neurosurgeon and Minimally Invasive Spine Surgeon who specialises in the assessment and surgical management of complex brain and spinal conditions. He completed his medical degree in India before undertaking extensive postgraduate training in general surgery and neurosurgery, achieving a gold medal during his postgraduate surgical training.

With experience spanning more than 5,000 surgical procedures, Dr Das has developed expertise in complex spinal surgery, brain tumours, neurotrauma and functional neurosurgical conditions. His clinical practice incorporates contemporary surgical techniques and minimally invasive approaches, with treatment plans tailored to each patient's diagnosis, clinical needs and individual circumstances.

Currently practicing at Zulekha Hospital Dubai, Dr Das takes a comprehensive approach to neurosurgical care, placing equal importance on accurate clinical assessment, appropriate treatment selection and clear communication. He is committed to ensuring that patients and their families understand the nature of their condition, the available treatment options and the expected course of care, supporting informed decision-making throughout the treatment journey.

Alongside his clinical practice, Dr Das maintains an active interest in research, academic publications and postgraduate medical education. He has contributed to the training and development of neurosurgical residents and junior surgeons and has served as faculty at national conferences and professional meetings focused on neurosurgery, spinal surgery and trauma care.

Dr Das is a member of several national and international professional organisations, including the Neurological Society of India (NSI), the Neurological Surgeons' Society of India (NSSA), the European Association of Neurosurgical Societies (EANS) and AO Spine, reflecting his engagement with the wider neurosurgical and spinal surgery communities.

His professional achievements include being named Best Surgery Resident of the Year at Medical College Kolkata in 2010 as well as this in 2021, he was recognised by the International Human Rights Commission.
