Dr. Alaa Nafea

Dr Alaa Nafea is a Specialist Paediatrician at Oud Al Touba Diagnostic and Screening Centre (SEHA Clinics) in Abu Dhabi, with more than 17 years of clinical experience in paediatrics and neonatal intensive care. She specialises in the management of critically ill neonates and children, with a particular focus on mechanical ventilation, acute medical and emergency care, and complex outpatient paediatric conditions. Dr Nafea also has a strong interest in breastfeeding medicine and has been working as a dedicated lactation consultant since 2015, supporting mothers and infants with breastfeeding challenges alongside her general paediatrics practice.

She previously served as a pediatric specialist at NMC Specialty Hospital. Previously, she was a Consultant Paediatrician and Lecturer at Zagazig University Tertiary Hospitals, combining clinical expertise with her passion for medical education. In her university role, she taught and mentored medical students and junior doctors, and has been recognised for her skills in teaching, presentation, and patient-centred care. Dr. Nafea continues to promote breastfeeding awareness and child health through clinical practice and content creation.

Her clinical background includes significant experience in neonatal and paediatric intensive care units, paediatric emergency departments, and outpatient general paediatrics. She is known for her expertise in managing complex neonatal ventilation and for providing family-focused care in both acute and chronic paediatric conditions.
