About Dr Ahmed Abaub

Dr. Ahmed Abaub is a highly trained Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon with international experience across France, Canada, the United Kingdom, and other global centres of excellence. He specialises in joint replacement surgery and sports-related injuries, with advanced expertise in complex hip, knee, and shoulder procedures. His clinical focus includes shoulder arthroscopy and reconstruction, as well as primary and revision lower limb arthroplasty.

Dr. Abaub’s surgical expertise encompasses a broad range of orthopaedic conditions, including shoulder instability, rotator cuff disease, hip and knee osteoarthritis, ligament reconstruction of the knee, meniscal repair and chondral grafting, and both primary and complex revision joint replacement surgery. He is highly experienced in minimally invasive arthroscopic techniques for both the shoulder and knee, alongside reconstructive procedures for complex musculoskeletal conditions.

He completed his Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery (MBBS) at the University of Tripoli and went on to obtain the Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons (FRCS) in the United Kingdom. He is also certified by the Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG) and has successfully completed Canadian qualification examinations. His advanced subspecialty training includes diplomas in shoulder surgery, knee surgery, and arthroscopy from leading institutions in Paris, Strasbourg, and Lyon.

Dr. Abaub undertook specialist orthopaedic residency training at Strasbourg University Hospital, followed by advanced fellowship training in shoulder surgery at Haute-Pierre University Hospital in France. He further completed a fellowship in lower limb reconstructive surgery at the University of Montreal in Canada, including complex primary and revision hip and knee arthroplasty, as well as osteotomies of the knee and pelvis.

In addition to his clinical practice, Dr. Abaub is an active member of several international orthopaedic societies, including the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons (AAOS), and holds memberships in multiple global professional organisations.
