Dr. Agata Mościcka

Dr. Agata Moscicka, MD, PhD, is a highly experienced Consultant Neonatologist and Head of the Department of Neonatology at Emirates Hospital Jumeirah. With over 20 years of clinical experience, she is recognized for her exceptional expertise in neonatal intensive care and her dedication to improving outcomes for newborns.

Dr. Moscicka completed her medical degree at the University of Medical Sciences in Poznan and went on to specialize in Pediatrics and Neonatology at the Post-graduate Medical Center in Warsaw, Poland. She also holds a PhD in Medical Sciences from the University of Medical Sciences in Poznan. In addition, she is an International Board-Certified Lactation Consultant, supporting mothers in successful breastfeeding practices. Her international training includes advanced neonatal care programs at the University of Louisville and the University of Illinois in the USA.

Before joining Emirates Hospital Jumeirah, Dr. Moscicka led and managed Neonatal Intensive Care Units (NICUs) at several leading hospitals across the UAE, including Dr. Sulaiman Al Habib Hospital in Dubai, Al Zahra Hospital Dubai, and Bright Point Royal Women’s Hospital in Abu Dhabi. She previously spent more than two decades working in a Level 4 NICU in Poland, gaining vast experience in managing complex neonatal conditions.

Her areas of expertise include the management of neonatal conditions such as Respiratory Distress Syndrome (RDS), Persistent Pulmonary Hypertension of the Newborn (PPHN), Necrotizing Enterocolitis (NEC), Hypoxic Ischemic Encephalopathy (HIE), and congenital anomalies. She is proficient in advanced ventilation techniques, including CPAP, SIMV, Assist-Control Ventilation, PSV, HFOV, and VG ventilation. Dr. Moscicka is also experienced in performing and interpreting neonatal echocardiography and is skilled in therapies such as iNO (inhaled nitric oxide) therapy and therapeutic hypothermia.

Her special interests include parenteral and enteral nutrition for preterm infants, chronic lung disease management, and early detection of congenital heart problems.
