Dr. Abdulkader Hamad

Dr. Abdulkader Hamad is a Consultant Orthopedic Spinal Surgeon with extensive expertise in treating both pediatric and adult spinal deformities, as well as handling complex spinal trauma and revisional spinal surgeries. A graduate with commendation from the University of Aberdeen in 2006, Dr. Hamad completed his rigorous training through the renowned Stoke/Oswestry Orthopedic training program. In 2017, he attained his FRCS (Orth) from the Royal College of Edinburgh, followed by the Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT). His dedication to advanced spinal care was further enhanced by his fellowship training at Salford Royal Infirmary and Manchester Children’s Hospital, with additional professional experience in Bordeaux and Dublin.

Dr. Hamad has served as a consultant at the University Hospital North Midlands, a major trauma center specialising in complex spinal emergencies and a tertiary center for spinal deformities. With 18 years of NHS experience, Dr. Hamad brings a wealth of clinical knowledge to his practice, including a particular focus on minimally invasive surgery. He is fluent in both Arabic and English, allowing him to communicate effectively with a diverse patient base, and is an active member of the British Scoliosis Society (BSS) and the British Association of Spinal Surgeons (BASS).

Throughout his career, Dr. Hamad has developed a comprehensive approach to spinal surgery. He specialises in pediatric scoliosis and kyphosis correction, employing advanced techniques like growing rods for young patients. His expertise extends to complex adult reconstructive surgeries for conditions such as flatback syndrome and scoliosis, and he frequently performs microscopic lumbar discectomies and decompression procedures on the lumbar and thoracic spine. Dr. Hamad is highly skilled in interbody fusion techniques, including TLIF and minimally invasive anterior surgeries like DLIF, OLLIF, and ALIF. In cervical spine surgery, he performs anterior cervical decompression and fusion (ACDF) as well as cervical disc replacement (ACDR) procedures, offering critical support for patients with myelopathy and traumatic injuries.
