Dr Zainab Naseem

Dr Zainab Naseem is an Australian-trained Consultant General Surgeon with extensive experience across a broad range of surgical conditions. She completed her general surgical training through the Royal North Shore Hospital Network and subsequently undertook advanced colorectal fellowship training at Northern Hospital.

Dr Naseem has specialist expertise in colorectal surgery, advanced laparoscopic procedures, and robotic surgery, with a focus on achieving effective outcomes through minimally invasive techniques. She has developed a broad general surgical practice covering both laparoscopic and open procedures, including gallbladder surgery, hernia repair, appendicectomy, skin cancer and lesion excision with flap or graft reconstruction, carpal tunnel surgery, Dupuytren’s contracture, pilonidal disease, and benign breast conditions.

Her colorectal expertise includes the management of colorectal cancers, metastatic bowel obstruction, inflammatory bowel disease, proctological conditions, pelvic floor disorders, faecal incontinence, obstetric sphincter injuries, and pelvic endometriosis. She also performs advanced procedures including transanal minimally invasive surgery (TAMIS/TEMS), colonoscopy, endoscopic mucosal resection (EMR), and stenting procedures.

Dr Naseem also provides upper gastrointestinal and hepatobiliary surgical care, including laparoscopic gastric band removal, gastroscopy, variceal banding, PEG procedures, benign oesophagogastric surgery, and the management of gallbladder and biliary conditions.

Her wider general surgery practice includes laparoscopic cholecystectomy, small bowel surgery, adhesiolysis, complex laparoscopic hernia repair, port-a-cath insertion, ingrown toenail procedures, thyroid and parathyroid conditions, and benign breast surgery.
