Dr Zabdiel Samidurai

Dr Zabdiel Samidurai is a Consultant Gastroenterologist and Hepatologist practicing on the Sunshine Coast, Queensland. Initially earning a Bachelor of Veterinary Science with Honours in 2004, he completed his medical degree (MBBS) at the University of Queensland in 2008. Following foundational medical training and advanced specialist physician training across major Queensland hospitals, he attained Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP) in 2017.

Dr Samidurai provides comprehensive diagnostic, therapeutic, and preventative gastrointestinal care. His clinical expertise encompasses routine and diagnostic upper gastrointestinal endoscopy (gastroscopy), colonoscopy, polypectomy, and capsule endoscopy evaluation. In addition to luminal endoscopy, he has dedicated subspecialty interests in inflammatory bowel disease (Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis), chronic liver disease management, swallowing disorders, gastro-oesophageal reflux, and complex clinical nutrition, including feeding tube insertion and maintenance (PEG/NJ tubes). Guided by a patient-centred philosophy, he focuses on empowering patients through clear communication, helping them thoroughly understand their conditions and actively engage in shared care decisions.
