Dr William Wilson

Dr William Wilson is a consultant cardiologist based at the Royal Melbourne Hospital, with specialist expertise in interventional cardiology, adult congenital heart disease, and structural cardiac procedures. He is also an accredited TAVI (Transcatheter Aortic Valve Implantation) practitioner.

A graduate of the University of Melbourne (MBBS, 1999), Dr Wilson completed his advanced cardiology training at the Royal Melbourne Hospital. In 2009, he was awarded Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP), Adult Medicine Division. He later undertook further subspecialty training through international fellowships at the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh and the Toronto Congenital Cardiac Centre for Adults.

Currently, Dr Wilson is pursuing a PhD at the University of Melbourne, investigating outcomes of percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) in chronically occluded arteries, with a particular focus on patients with adult congenital heart disease and systemic right ventricles.

He is actively engaged in clinical research and regularly publishes in peer-reviewed journals. In addition to his clinical and academic roles, Dr Wilson is dedicated to medical education, leading cardiology teaching for junior doctors and coordinating the FRACP lecture series.
