Dr William Chik

Dr William Chik is a specialist Cardiologist and Interventional Cardiac Electrophysiologist with expertise in the diagnosis and treatment of heart rhythm disorders, general cardiology, hypertension and heart failure. He graduated in Medicine and Surgery from the University of Adelaide in 2002 and was admitted as a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians in 2009. He subsequently completed a PhD at the University of Sydney in cardiac electrophysiology and undertook advanced clinical training in cardiac arrhythmias and cardiac device management in the United States.

His specialist interests include cardiac electrophysiology, radiofrequency ablation of arrhythmias and cardiac device implantation, including pacemakers, implantable defibrillators and cardiac resynchronisation therapy. He also has experience treating atrial fibrillation, atrial flutter, supraventricular tachycardia and other rhythm disorders. Dr Chik takes a tailored approach to each patient's heart health, discussing their individual circumstances and treatment options to help them understand and participate in decisions about their care.

Alongside his clinical work, Dr Chik has a strong commitment to medical education and postgraduate training. His enthusiasm for clinical teaching led to his appointment as Clinical Lead for Post-Graduate Cardiology Training, reflecting his ongoing involvement in supporting the education and development of cardiology trainees. He also speaks fluent Cantonese and is conversational in Mandarin, enabling him to consult with Cantonese- and Mandarin-speaking patients.
