Dr Usama Munir

Dr Usama Munir is a dedicated Consultant Psychiatrist who provides comprehensive mental health care. He specialises in adult psychiatry, offering advanced psychiatric assessments and the development of tailored care plans. Dr Munir is passionate about collaborating with General Practitioners, families, and carers to deliver holistic solutions that address both the mental and physical health needs of his patients.

Dr Munir holds a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) and a Master of Psychological Medicine (MPM). He is a Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists (FRANZCP) and an Associate Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Medical Administrators (AFRACMA). His commitment to clinical excellence is further demonstrated by his academic contributions, including published research on improving physical examination rates in acute adult psychiatry units, and receiving the prestigious Santosh Rampersad Memorial Award in 2020, alongside team awards for patient safety.

With a broad range of clinical interests, Dr Munir focuses on diagnosing and managing complex mental health conditions in adults aged 18 and older. His areas of expertise include adult attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), mood disorders, anxiety disorders, and obsessive-compulsive disorder. He is also highly skilled in early intervention for both psychotic and non-psychotic disorders, personality disorders, bipolar disorder, and the application of cognitive behavioural therapy to support patient recovery.
