Miss Tara Thambimuthu

Miss Tara Thambimuthu is a dedicated and compassionate General Practitioner who is deeply committed to providing comprehensive, holistic healthcare to her patients. With a strong passion for rural medicine, she has established herself as a trusted medical professional in the Evans Head community. Miss Thambimuthu believes in building lasting relationships with her patients, ensuring that each individual receives personalised care tailored to their unique health journey.

Miss Thambimuthu completed her Doctor of Medicine at Flinders University in 2013. Following her graduation, she undertook her early medical training in the Northern Territory and Lismore, gaining invaluable experience in diverse clinical settings. She holds a Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (FRACGP) and has obtained an Associate Training Programme certificate from the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (ARANZCOG(P)), reflecting her advanced training and dedication to high standards of clinical practice.

In her daily practice, Miss Thambimuthu focuses on a wide range of medical services, with a particular interest in women's health, children's health, and skin cancer medicine. She is highly skilled in providing pregnancy shared-care and performing specialised procedures such as intrauterine device (IUD) insertions. Her proactive approach to preventative medicine is also evident in her thorough skin cancer checks, helping patients manage and protect their skin health. Outside of her clinical work, she enjoys spending time with her family, bushwalking, paddleboarding, and yoga.
