Dr Suren Subramaniam

Dr Suren Subramaniam is an Australian-trained Specialist General Surgeon with a clinical focus on endocrine surgery and surgical oncology. He completed his primary medical degree in India in 2001 before undertaking his general surgical training across various major teaching hospitals in Perth, including Royal Perth Hospital, Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital, and Fremantle Hospital. He attained his Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (FRACS) in 2017, after which he transitioned into high-level subspecialty post-fellowship training in complex surgical oncology and endocrine surgery.

Following his general training, Dr Subramaniam dedicated three additional years to post-fellowship training in New South Wales and Victoria to refine his expertise in complex oncology and head and neck surgery. He gained significant experience at the Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre in Melbourne, focusing on the multidisciplinary management of advanced skin cancers. As an active member on the clinical panel of the statewide Western Australian Kirkbride Melanoma Advisory Service (WAKMAS) in Perth, he provides specialized surgical care for advanced melanoma patients, including sentinel node biopsy, lymph node dissection, metastasectomy, and isolated limb infusion. Dr Subramaniam is also a certified endoscopist and remains actively involved in medical education and surgical research, having led multinational studies and published peer-reviewed research while regularly teaching medical students.
