Dr Stefan Antoniou

Dr Stefan Antoniou is an Australian-trained urological surgeon and Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (FRACS) with subspecialty fellowship training in robotic oncology and minimally invasive urological care. He is registered with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA Registration Number: MED0001203648) with Specialist Registration in Urology.

He holds a BSc (Hons) and MBBS from the University of Melbourne, as well as fellowships with FRACS (Urol) and FUSANZ, and governance credentials as a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors (GAICD). He completed his subspecialty Robotic Oncology Fellowship at Greenslopes Private Hospital and has extensive expertise utilizing multiple robotic platforms for precise cancer resections.

With over 15 years of experience in robotic surgery and more than 1,500 robotic cases performed, his clinical practice focuses on robotic cancer surgery for prostate and pelvic malignancies, benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH), complex urinary stone disease, and bladder dysfunction. He serves as a Specialist Urological Surgeon and Robotic Oncologist at Northern Urology, Far North Day Hospital, and Cairns Private Hospital.

Dr Antoniou is an active clinical educator, researcher, and proctor. He serves as Senior Lecturer in Surgery at James Cook University, Director of Australian Clinical Trials and Research, and regional lead for the Prostate Cancer Outcomes Registry in Far North Queensland. Additionally, he regularly mentors surgical teams across urology, gynaecology, and general surgery to help advance robotic surgical programs.
