Dr Shivdev Sandhu

Dr Shivdev Sandhu is a highly dedicated Consultant Psychiatrist who provides comprehensive, evidence-based mental health care for adult patients. Known for his warm, collaborative, and thoughtful approach, Dr Sandhu focuses on delivering person-centred care that is tailored to the unique needs and circumstances of each individual. He combines pharmacological and psychological strategies to support long-term recovery and overall wellbeing, working closely with General Practitioners, Psychologists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated treatment.

With a broad range of clinical interests, Dr Sandhu specialises in managing complex psychiatric conditions across diverse settings. His areas of expertise include mood and anxiety disorders, such as generalised anxiety disorder and obsessive-compulsive disorder, as well as trauma-related disorders, psychosis, and bipolar disorders. He also has significant experience in perinatal psychiatry, neuropsychiatric disorders, and addressing the complex intersection between chronic pain and mental health. Additionally, he provides assessment and treatment for eating disorders, including binge eating disorder, and is skilled in formulating structured management plans to support patients on their recovery journey.

Dr Sandhu completed his medical training, earning his Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS). He went on to achieve Fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists (FRANZCP) and completed a Certificate of Advanced Training in Consultation-Liaison Psychiatry in 2019.
