Associate Professor Shannon Thomas is a Vascular, Endovascular and Renal Transplant Surgeon based in New South Wales, Australia. He graduated with Honours in Science and Medicine from the University of New South Wales in 2005 before completing vascular surgical training at Royal Perth Hospital, Westmead Hospital, Royal North Shore Hospital and Prince of Wales Hospital.
He has undertaken additional endovascular fellowship training in Leipzig, Germany, and Padua, Italy, where he developed a particular interest in diabetic vasculopathy and small vessel angioplasty techniques for limb salvage. His clinical practice includes vascular surgery, endovascular procedures and renal transplantation. Alongside his clinical work, Associate Professor Thomas is a Conjoint Senior Lecturer at the University of New South Wales and a Supervisor of Training for future vascular surgeons. He is actively involved in vascular research and regularly presents at national and international vascular conferences.
