A/Prof Shane White

Associate Professor Shane White is a highly regarded Consultant Medical Oncologist based in Heidelberg, Australia. With a dedicated focus on providing compassionate, patient-centred care, A/Prof White specialises in the management and treatment of all solid tumour cancers. He works closely with General Practitioners and other Medical Specialists to ensure a coordinated, multidisciplinary approach to cancer care. He is particularly recognised for his clinical expertise and sub-specialty interest in breast and lung cancers, supporting patients and their families throughout their treatment journeys.

A/Prof White completed his medical degree with honours at Monash University in 1991, where he was also awarded a scholarship in his final year. He went on to pursue further academic excellence, gaining his doctorate during a two-year research period at a renowned cancer centre in the United Kingdom between 1998 and 1999. Upon returning to Melbourne in 2000, he was admitted as a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of Physicians (FRACP) and subsequently completed a two-year post-graduate Diploma in Palliative Medicine, further enhancing his holistic approach to patient care.

In addition to his clinical practice, A/Prof White is actively involved in advancing cancer treatment through clinical research. He serves as a Principal Investigator on numerous international clinical trials, which allows him to offer his patients access to cutting-edge therapies alongside well-established treatment protocols. He is an active member of several prominent professional organisations, including the Breast Cancer Trials group, the Thoracic Oncology Group of Australia, the International Association for the Study of Lung Cancer, Cancer Trials Australia, and the Medical Oncology Group of Australia.
