Dr Satish Ramkumar

Dr Satish Ramkumar is a highly qualified Consultant Cardiologist, General Practitioner, and Cardiac Imaging Specialist based in Melbourne, Australia. He is dedicated to providing comprehensive, patient-centred care, combining his expertise in general medicine with advanced cardiovascular care. Dr Ramkumar has a strong passion for improving community health outcomes, focusing on the prevention, early diagnosis, and long-term management of complex heart conditions.

With extensive training in both general medicine and cardiology, Dr Ramkumar specialises in non-invasive cardiac imaging, heart failure, and valvular heart disease. He has a particular interest in the emerging field of cardio-oncology, which focuses on protecting the heart health of patients undergoing cancer treatments. His clinical practice is characterised by a reassuring and meticulous approach, ensuring that each patient receives a highly personalised treatment plan tailored to their unique medical needs.

Dr Ramkumar graduated with his medical degree from the University of Melbourne in 2009. He went on to complete a Master of Medicine in Clinical Epidemiology at the University of Sydney in 2017, followed by a PhD at a leading cardiovascular research institute in 2020. He completed advanced training in General and Acute Care Medicine as well as Cardiology, followed by sub-specialty fellowships in non-invasive imaging and cardio-oncology both locally and in London. Dr Ramkumar is a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP) and a Fellow of the Cardiac Society of Australia and New Zealand (FCSANZ). He is also a board-certified Cardio-Oncologist with the International Society of Cardio-oncology (ICOS) and actively contributes to medical education as a Director of Physician Education.
