Dr Sasmira Bhatt

Dr. Sasmira Bhatt obtained her medical degree from the University of Otago in New Zealand in 2008. Prior to beginning her specialist training in Australia, she dedicated several years to research in obstetrics at the Monash Institute of Medical Research (formerly Ritchie Centre), where she authored multiple scientific papers and presented at numerous women’s health conferences, earning recognition with several awards.

With over a decade of experience in obstetrics and gynaecology, Dr. Bhatt completed her training at various esteemed institutions including Tasmania, Eastern Health, Monash Health, and Joan Kirner Women’s and Children’s Hospital. She currently holds public appointments at Eastern Health and Monash Health, alongside her private practice at Grace Women’s Clinic in Berwick.

Dr. Bhatt’s clinical interests encompass a wide spectrum of obstetric and gynaecological care, with a particular focus on:

1. Urogynaecological conditions such as pelvic organ prolapse, urinary incontinence, perineal trauma, and pelvic floor disorders post-childbirth.
2. Advanced laparoscopic surgical techniques, particularly in the management of endometriosis.
3. Management of high-risk pregnancies, including twin pregnancies, vaginal delivery after caesarean section (VBAC), and breech vaginal births.

Known for her holistic and empathetic approach to patient care, Dr. Bhatt emphasises patient partnership in treatment decisions. She is deeply passionate about women’s health and is committed to achieving optimal outcomes for her patients through personalised and compassionate care.
