Dr Ruben Cohen-Hallaleh

Dr Ruben Cohen-Hallaleh is a Specialist General and Breast Cancer Surgeon practising at St Vincent's Private Hospital, Prince of Wales Private Hospital, Kareena Private Hospital, Waratah Private Hospital, and Sydney Southwest Private Hospital in Sydney. He specialises in breast, endocrine, and general surgery, with a focus on minimally invasive techniques and oncoplastic breast surgery, which combines cancer removal with reconstructive procedures to preserve breast appearance. His approach integrates the latest surgical and non-invasive treatments tailored to individual patient needs.

His expertise includes breast cancer surgery such as breast conserving surgery (lumpectomy), total mastectomy, and oncoplastic techniques aimed at improving cosmetic outcomes. He also manages endocrine surgeries involving the thyroid and parathyroid glands. Dr Cohen-Hallaleh performs procedures including lymph node removal, fibroadenoma cryoablation, hernia repairs, gallbladder surgery, endoscopic investigations (gastroscopy and colonoscopy), and excision of melanoma and soft tissue tumors.

Dr Cohen-Hallaleh completed his medical degree (MBBS) and Bachelor of Science in Medicine at the University of New South Wales in 2006. He earned a Master of Surgery (ChM) from the University of Edinburgh in 2017 and became a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (FRACS) in 2014. He is also an Associate Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Medical Administrators (AFRACMA) since 2019. Dr Cohen-Hallaleh holds academic positions as Conjoint Associate Lecturer at UNSW and Associate Senior Lecturer at Western Sydney University. He is involved in surgical education as an instructor and examiner for the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons. His research interests focus on breast cancer, and he actively participates in clinical trials.
