Dr Ross Ferrier

Dr Ross Ferrier is a highly skilled general ophthalmologist with extensive experience in treating a wide range of eye conditions. He has a particular interest in managing cataracts, glaucoma, strabismus (squint or lazy eye), eyelid and lacrimal disease, children’s ophthalmology, and medical issues affecting the retina, including diabetic eye disease, macular degeneration, and vascular disease.

Dr Ferrier completed his basic medical training at the University of New South Wales and subsequently undertook specialist training in ophthalmology at Sydney Eye Hospital. To further enhance his expertise, he spent time in the United Kingdom at renowned institutions in Southampton, Winchester, and Cambridge, where he gained valuable experience in general ophthalmology and strabismus management.

Currently, Dr Ferrier serves as a Visiting Medical Officer at the Central Coast Local Area Health Service and holds operating privileges at Central Coast Day Hospital and Tuggerah Lakes Private Hospital. He also has appointments at the Central Coast Local Health District, including Gosford and Wyong District Hospitals, where he is responsible for screening premature babies for Retinopathy of Prematurity at the Special Care Unit.
