Dr Robert Chu

Dr Robert Chu is a seasoned Paediatrician and Head of Department with 25 years of consultant-level experience in paediatrics and child health. He currently practises at Norwest Children’s Specialist Centre and Chatswood Paediatrics, where he provides care across a broad range of general and specialist paediatric conditions.

Dr Chu completed his internship and residency training at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital before undertaking specialist paediatric training across the Sydney Children’s Hospital Network. He subsequently pursued advanced training in paediatric sedation and anaesthesia, further broadening his clinical expertise and ability to support children requiring specialised procedures and acute care.

His clinical interests encompass neonatal and general paediatrics, acute paediatric presentations, paediatric allergies, and developmental and behavioural conditions. He also has particular experience in the assessment and management of children with ADHD and autism spectrum disorder, supporting families through both diagnosis and ongoing care.

Alongside his clinical responsibilities, Dr Chu has made a sustained contribution to medical education and professional development. For more than a decade, he has been involved in teaching and mentoring junior medical staff, clinical research and the work of senior hospital committees. He is an Honorary Associate Consultant at The Children’s Hospital at Westmead and a Medical Associate of the Australasian Society of Clinical Immunology and Allergy (ASCIA).

Dr Chu combines extensive consultant experience and intuition with a broad clinical practice focused on the health and development of children from infancy through adolescence.
