Dr Richard Harvey

Dr. Richard Harvey is a Professor of Rhinology at the University of New South Wales and Macquarie University, and Head of the Rhinology and Skull Base Surgery Program at UNSW’s Applied Medical Research Centre. He practices at Macquarie University Hospital and St Vincent’s Hospital, Sydney, focusing exclusively on nose, sinus, and skull base conditions.

Dr. Harvey completed his MBBS at the University of New South Wales in 1998, followed by specialist training and dual international fellowships in rhinology and skull base surgery in the United States and United Kingdom. He later earned a PhD in transnasal skull base surgery. He is the only dual-fellowship trained rhinologist in Australia who specialises solely in diseases of the nose and sinuses.

His clinical expertise includes the management of sinus disease, nasal obstruction, allergies, and advanced endoscopic sinus and skull base surgery. Dr. Harvey has published over 250 peer-reviewed papers, books, and book chapters, and has delivered more than 500 national and international lectures on sino-nasal disease. He serves on the editorial boards of Rhinology Journal, the American Journal of Rhinology & Allergy, and the International Forum of Allergy and Rhinology.

Dr. Harvey also leads training courses in Sydney, contributing to ongoing education in rhinology and surgical techniques.
