Dr Rachael Lay

Dr Rachael Lay is a dedicated and compassionate General Practitioner who is committed to providing high-quality, patient-centred care. She enjoys all aspects of General Practice, offering comprehensive medical support to individuals and families. With a reassuring and professional approach, Dr Lay focuses on delivering personalised healthcare that addresses the unique needs of each patient.

Dr Lay completed her medical degree at James Cook University, graduating in 2015. Following her graduation, she gained extensive clinical experience training across several major hospitals in Queensland before transitioning into General Practice. In 2021, she successfully obtained her fellowship with the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners. In the same year, she also completed a Master of Public Health, further enhancing her expertise in preventative medicine and community health.

In her clinical practice, Dr Lay has developed a diverse range of special interests. She is particularly passionate about women's health, paediatrics, sexual health, and preventative health. Her clinical capabilities include providing travel medicine consultations, prescribing Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis (PrEP), and supporting women considering a medical termination of pregnancy. Additionally, she has specialised training in contraceptive care, conducting dedicated clinics for intrauterine device (IUD) procedures.
